| This bird , found by Mark Hawkes, has a facial pattern reminiscent of a Baikal Teal, including the vertical bar, 2 yellow patches and some green in the stripe behind the eye. Further the breast colour is also a good match for Baikal Teal. Although it is always possible that this is an escaped Pintail x Baikal Teal hybrid, it is also well known that Pintail x Teal hybrids can display Baikal Teal-like traits. The breast colour and green eye-stripe are also traits seen in Eurasian Wigeon. It is anyone's guess as to the true ancestry of this bird.
