The michahellis is the nearer bird. The further bird is a probable argentatus Herring Gull. 2CY's usually have rather more grey in the scapulars than this bird. Harder to pick out than most, when this bird preened, its tail was a complete give-away - a lot of white with a pristine black tail-band. Notice how, on the Herring Gull, P7 aligns with the end of the tail, but on the Yellow-legged Gull, it is P6 that aligns with the end of the tail.
