Migrant Meadow Pipits come in more than one flavour. Bob Scott commented about these birds as follows: "I think these are pratensis, i.e. the yellow/green race; 1653 and 1654 in particular show considerable amount of yellow around the face. On whistleri the back is much darker and streaking heavier with less clean white on the underparts - although as always there seem to be intermediates around. The birds in the photos lack the warm reddish-brown that I would have expected, particularly on the upper parts. "
