 Greater Sand Plover

Up To Other Birds

Western Reef Heron 

This bird was notably smaller than the accompanying Greater Sand Plovers, and in some ways, with its notably pale collar, was not unlike a Kentish Plover. It has a shortish, blunt-tipped bill, a smallish eye and and a more rounded head than Greater Sand Plver. Note it has a short nail on the bill and blackish legs.
