These were 2 out of 4 young birds that turned up at Wicken on 11th September, and have put on a super show since. The first individual was ringed as a nestling at Vlieland, Netherlands on 7th June 01. It has also been seen at Minsmere, Suffolk, Breydon Water, Norfolk and Reading, Berks. Many thanks to Otto Overdijk of Workinggroup Spoonbills International for the information. Postscript: On 16 September, 2 birds left Wicken including the Dutch-ringed juvenile which has sadly died after hitting power cables at Fisher Green, Herts.
