The Americans would call these Bohemian Waxwings. The winter of 2000/2001 has been good for Waxwings, but not many have turned up in Cambs. These are pictures from a flock of 5, found by Bruce Martin on Kings Hedges Road, Cambridge, 16th April 01. They spent most of the time sitting in the top of an Alder tree, occasionally flying down to feed on Guelder Rose berries nearby.
