Idea for a Swift Brick

A common potential problem with some commercial Swift bricks is that they are rather narrow, even less than 100mm wide. Although Swifts may breed successfully in such a narrow space, ideally the width should be nearer or greater than the bird's wing-length - 175mm. There is sometimes a reluctance by architects to encroach on the cavity in a wall, therefore why not a brick that protrudes outside the wall? Such a brick could be an attractive feature in an otherwise featureless wall. Also, the entrance pointing downwards makes it more difficult for other species to enter.
